Lesinshanghai group for lesbian/bisexual women organizes a regular get-together every 2nd Tue of the month at Cotton's from 19:30 onwards.
This relaxed, conversation-oriented modern lounge has taken over the former Transit Lounge premises and added their own colorful, comfortable pop style to it. Bar, table, and couch seating. Quality drinks. Friendly staff speak some English. No entry on Sat night, unlike other bars. Cold beer on tap. Crowd is primarily 25-35yo local urban professionals.
Gay-owned and managed LGBT-friendly cafe, drinks and snacks, adjoining lucca 390 cafe & lounge (when lucca gets busy, a sliding door opens up into M to accommodate the overflow). Live music nightly at 9:30pm. Occasional events and parties. Weekend nights it gets gay as the crowd spills over from lucca. Open 10am-late.

This queer cinema collective has been a staple on the scene since 2015 and is one of Shanghai's best and most unique LGBT parties. Combining a mix tape screening of queer short films from around the world and an electro-disco afterparty by some of he city's best underground DJs. Free entry. Runs until the wee hours.
Queer owned, queer run. By day, Daliah serves quality cuisine from the owner's native Vienna. By night, the bar transforms into one of the city's most diverse LGBT spaces. They host queer film screenings, drag shows and New York-style ballroom parties. Crowd is typically mixed and very open minded. Usually free entry.
Shanghai's main lesbian bar. They are always open and there is usually something happening, whether game nights, discussion groups, bondage workshops or a party! Crowd is mostly female, but men are welcome.
This class act has been curating parties and mixers on the gay scene since 2017. Parties range from after-work cocktails to 90s gay anthem parties. Leans towards a more affluent gay-male crowd, but still fun even if you don't have money to burn. Entry 50-200rmb.
Monthly queer club night at Elevator by local favorite DJ Michael Cignarale. Promoted as 'pansexual realness,' Medusa draws its inspiration from New York's queer underground and Shanghai's alt-youth scene. Mixed crowd, expect to see a smattering of drag queens and experimental style. Music is solid rasta house and disco, with the occassional impressive international act.
Roller disco and classy cocktails, run by the team behind Roxie. makes for an interesting combination. Crowd has a good mix of LGBT, especially on weekends. Drinks are very affordable and excellent quality.
