2/F JinYuan Bld, 88 Song Yuan Rd, Luohu District, 2588-7000. Nice atmosphere with a younger crowd than the Ditian Bar, well behaved. Nightly shows (all in Chinese, but fun!). Unlike clubs elsewhere in Asia or the west, there is no nudity and suggestive behavior is kept low key. Busy on weekends, so you might want to reserve a table and arrive before 10pm.

8/F Shenzhen Royal Hotel, 1090 Wenjin North Rd, 2562-8888. Mainly Karaoke. More mature crowd (25-30+).

3/F Ocean Pacific Mansion, Jiabin Rd (near Da Ju Yuan, MixC Mall), 8213-8079. Cool sounds. Crowded, especially from 1am onwards. Mostly straights, but trendy gays go also.

3/F Huo Li Club, behind Jing Du Hotel (close to Da Ju Yuan), 8236-6823. Karaoke lounge that turns into a disco after midnight. Two VIP rooms for private karaoke. Very busy on the weekends. Many younger guys, but not many English speakers.

"If u r into live bands...go to V Bar, inside of the Crown Plaza Hotel, opposite side of Windows of the World...and there's U Bar...cool crowd, nice music. Portifino is inside OCT in Nanshan, near Happy Valley. Or, if you like to drink and chat there are a lot of places in Ke Xue Guan (Jusco). Try Demon: Uniyc, pub area, Citic City Plaza, 2598-9118. These bars are not exclusively for gays, but there are some gays/bi's cruisin' there...I should know coz am 1 of 'em!
