"Amam is maybe 15 minutes walk from Love Spa. It has the most gay services, for example in terms of
sexual health posters encouraging condom use and in terms of providing condoms." -- GlobalGay, Dec 20, 2012
"I confirm the comments about the AMAM Café & Spa. Located in a discreet location (often with women sitting on a seat in front of an unassuming residential gate. The place is friendly and clean. The crowd is mixed from young to old, local to expats. Cruisy sauna. There is an option for a shared shower room. Pool size is good for unintended, yet intimate, contacts. A lot of silence in a relaxed atmosphere." -- Traveller123, Jun 11, 2012
"Galaxy has the most attractive location. It's just one or two hundred meters from the Royal Palace, and it's right across
from the old Parliament Bld. There's a bar/cafe on the top floor, and you can sit there on the balcony drinking a beer and hugging your new friend while you admire the architecture. Galaxy is a little older, so, for example, some of the shower curtains are torn from their rings on top, but I disagree with some posters who say that it isn't clean." -- GlobalGay, Dec 20, 2012
"Love Spa is new and has the biggest pool and the most facilities (an aquarium for fish foot-massage, for example) and probably the biggest parking." -- GlobalGay, Dec 20, 2012
"Went to the sauna Love Spa for Man which is new and nice with a swimming pool...unfortunately, previous observations are confirmed about Cambodians not been so keen to play with foreigners..." -- peterbxl1, May 15, 2012
"Went to Khmer Spa, near the Russian Market, and the jaccuzzi is dark (can't see anything), slippery, and I won't speak about the quality of the dark water." -- satapanak, Jan 29, 2013
"I've been to Amam, Galaxy, and Love Spa many times and I like them all. Love Spa is the newest, but all three of them are clean. All of them are clean, but not all of them are shiny new. Some posters have said that at certain spas, Khmer men prefer to play with other Khmer and not with foreigners. I don't believe there is any such different among the spas in Phnom Penh. In all of these spas, probably more than 95% of the people will be Khmer. On a given evening there might be 1-3 westerners, and also some Asians from other countries (Vietnam and China being the most common). Many Khmer men are interested in playing with foreigners, especially westerners. I'm a Westerner, and I found it very easy to meet Khmer men in all of these spas. Often this was for fun, but sometimes it was just to chat. All the spas are much darker than bathhouses in many other parts of the world. Khmer people tend to feel shy, so the steam rooms, for example, are often kept black. Sometimes it is so dark that you really cannot see your hand in front of your face. This means several things. First, if you see someone you like outside, follow them closely when they go inside the steam room. If you wait, you might never find them inside the dark room and will have to look for them again when you both return to areas with more lighting. Second, it can sometimes be difficult to find how to get out of a steam room as the door will not have a lighted EXIT sign above it. Some Khmer men will want you to enter a room first and then, when no one is looking, they'll follow. This might seem odd, but Khmer are very shy at times and often embarrassed about showing interest in front of strangers. This shyness contrasts with a wide acceptance of sex, as long as it's not seen in public. Gay bathhouses are found on completely ordinary streets. You may find it hard to believe that there could be a gay bath house between a grocery store and a house where old ladies and kids play in front. Finally, how to find these places? Take a tuk-tuk. Give the driver the street address, number, and name. He'll probably know the place already. Don't be at all shy or worried that he'll be reluctant to take you to a gay bath house. Around the world taxi drivers are used to such nightlife requests, and in Cambodia they're even more accepting. In fact, if your tuk-tuk driver is handsome, you can even invite him to come inside (you'll need to pay the admission charge, of course). Just tell him what happens inside or have the Khmer workers at the bath house explain. I did this two times with my driver, and each time he agreed and we both had a good time." -- GlobalGay, Dec 20, 2012
"Khmer Spa-Massage is a 4-story property that recently opened at 26B Street 410, Sangkat Boeung Trabek, Kham Chamkar Morn (near Toul Tumpoung Pagoda), 010-969-798, 081-969-798. As a part of their promotion every time you visit the place you are entitled to be a part of a lucky draw on the 3rd week of the month. They open from 3pm until late, daily, even holidays. Entrance fee is only US$2 if you come before 5pm and US$3 after 5pm. Free drinks. From the gate I was greeted by good looking and friendly staff that assisted me from moto parking up to the reception counter. If you are a first timer like me, someone from the counter will show you all the facilities they got. G/F has three shower rooms, pool, steam room and sauna. 1/F has 12 individual private shower rooms with romantic leather chair (soon they going to put a maze and a glory hole). 2/F has a changing room with 80 lockers (massage service coming soon). 3/F has a karaoke room that could be a nice venue for private parties, a small bar for cocktails and Net kiosk. 4/F has a gym with complete equipment, plus two small balconies to relax and smoke. According to the owner, once a month starting in Dec, 4/F will the venue for some monthly social events. The place is clean at all times. Good looking and well mannered staff. And also the owner of this place is very friendly and made it a point to ask me for any suggestions to improve their service before I left. English, Thai, Chinese, and Vietnamese spoken." -- emhill, Oct 11, 2012
