Unlike many hotels in South Asia, where bringing a local person to your room can be difficult, in Cambodia (and many other places in Southeast Asia), this isn't a problem as long as the person presents his or her national ID to the hotel reception. In Cambodia, I had one boyfriend whose ID had been stolen. He was allowed to come to my room during the day but he couldn't stay the night. The hotel already knew me for several weeks, so that might be why they allowed a person without an ID to visit.
