Comments from Utopians:
"Q Bar and Kudos were both very fun, but only happening on Fri and Sat. We met a lot of locals and found that many of the guys from other islands are on Bali working as moneyboys, whereas the Balinese tend to want to hang out." -- joshuayyz, Jul 24, 2006
"Bali by night is changing. If you go there for the weekend, don't miss Embargo. It's a straight place, but lately not that straight. Last Sat my boyfriend and I had a blast. So many bi-sexuals and kinda-straight boys." -- Lusty, Mar 9, 2006
"The gay scene is mainly at Q-Bar and Kudos. Start with Q-Bar at 12:30pm-1am, followed by Kudos at 2am! Otherwise, you won't see much." -- AsianSense, Feb 9, 2006
Dejavu (mixed)
Jln Double Six at Blue Ocean Beach. A modern, high tech and trendy cocktail and wine bar with good DJs. Same owners as Spy Bar. Gay friendly and busy on weekends. Expat crowd.

Comments from Utopians:
"After 1am everyone gradually wanders to Kudos. Fri and Sat nights are very crowded. On Sat there is a first drink charge for all if you want to enter the main air-conditioned part of the disco (if you have a drink already purchased from Kudos then this is overlooked, of course)." -- PJ, May 2, 2005
"Kudos is one of the best clubs I've ever been to. There is no entry charge to get in for westerners or Indonesians, unlike the straight clubs in Kuta! Great shows, dancers and the busiest, liveliest place I've been to on the island!" -- Marcus, Mar 15, 2005
Liquid Bar (mixed)
Jln Raya Dhyana Pura, Abimanyu Arcade No. 9, Seminyak, 730-894, FAX 730-894, email. More like pre-dance club with blue light around the illuminated bar. 2/F is a red lounge and more of an international venue. Also used for private parties like birthdays or bachelor parties. Very cozy cocktail atmosphere with funky house and vocal music, plus international guest DJs. Utopia Member Discount

Q Bar

Comments from Utopians:
"Q Bar will always be memorable, love the experience, lots of GWM." -- riverrobles, Sep 19, 2005
"Around midnight Q-Bar is the place all head to (with the overflow going to Kudos on the opposite side of the road). There is an early show just after 11pm (not too many people there yet then) but the main one is at 1am." -- PJ, May 2, 2005
Spy Bar (mixed)
Jln Dhyana Pura, Seminyak. Trendy, modern venue with high ceilings. Packed on Sat nights, but less popular with local gays these days.

"At 11pm sharp Hulu Cafe does it's Drag Show. Try and get in a bit earlier if you want a seat or the opportunity to mingle with the locals." -- PJ, May 2, 2005
"After many years of entertaining the tourists and locals, owner Graham has sold Cafe Hulu. It was closed for a few days for renovations and has reopened, remaining as a drag show venue." -- michaelb, Feb 10, 2005

Comments from Utopians:
"Responding to the complaint below about Sunday Rainbow Nite, it might be correct that the cashier had no more tickets left for R$20,000. due to the changing price for all the drinks at Doublesix Club. I also want to inform you that on Sun nite it's only a first drink charge and it's different prices depending on what you like to drink. So come and join us again and we will be sure that you will have good fun!" -- Pino (Rainbow Nite promotor @ DOUBLESIX CLUB), Jul 11, 2005
"On Sun night what was once a fantastic Disco "66" has a Rainbow Night. When it started off the crowds were great (entry was free) and all used to enjoy going there! Like every thing, times change. During the last holiday week the entry was R$20,000. including a beer. Then, the next week the cashier at the door insisted on selling a R$50,000. tickets with a free cocktail...I was advised by the cashier there was no R$20,000. tickets left, even though there was barely anyone inside from what I could see! I requested to talk to the manager and was told there wasn't one! Needless to say there is always the easy option -- "Do Not Enter". -- PJ, May 2, 2005
