"Went to Xiamen over the QingMing Festival and went to a gay bar near the Pirate Ship in the Ming Fa Guang Chang mall. It was on 2/F, next to a clothing store. You had to access the floor by going through a food stall. The owner/manager greeted us and seated us. He advised that the charge was Y$300 due to a 'special show' and it's the weekend charge. I looked around and most of the customers were young and drinking beer. He advised we could not have beer and brought out a large platter of fruits and we ordered a bottle of wine to satisfy the charge. This was definately a rip off as we could clearly see the others paying the bottle rate for beer. I am a great believer in patronizing gay businesses to keep them going, but when they take advantage of their client base that's a shame and a disservice to the gay community." -- sfgam, Apr 14, 2013
