On November 16, 2003, Bangkok held its fifth gay pride parade, culminating a weeklong festival that kicked off with the annual Pride in the Park on the preceeding weekend. Events included bowling, tennis, and volleyball competitions; the 4th annual Utopia Awards for gay and lesbian pioneers in Asia; a dinner cruise on the spectacular River of Kings; and parties and special events organized by Bangkok's leading gay businesses and community organizations.
