Bangkok Pride Parade 2002

On November 17, 2002, Bangkok held its fourth gay pride parade. This year saw support from government officials, including the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Former Deputy Prime Minister, Pitak Intrawitayanunt, cut the ribbon to launch the procession. Silom Road was closed for the event and the crowd, estimated by government sources to be over 200,000, was the largest yet.
