Pride in the Park 2004

The annual Pride in the Park kicked off Bangkok Pride Week 2004 on November 14.

Bangkok Deputy Governor, Dr. Pensri Pichaisanit, delivered an inspiring proclaimation and officiated at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the start of Bangkok Pride Week. Also pictured above are gay activist Natee Teerarojjanapongs, a former Utopia Award winner and currently running as the first openly gay candidate for the Thai Senate; and Bangkok Pride Chairman, Lee Harris.

It was a hot start to cool season, but the soaring temperatures did not keep away the fun-seekers.

Festive booths by local gay businesses and organizations lined the shaded pathways of Bangkok's central Lumpini park.

The indoor stadium roared with cheering for the day-long volleyball competition.

The 3rd annual Dragoncastle Sexy Swimsuit Competition took place at the swimming pool.

Games, food and lucky draw prizes added to the mardi gras atmosphere and made for a pride-filled Saturday in the park!
