MALAYSIA - Dec 11, 2002 The PT Foundation, winners of a 2001 Utopia Award, have launched Malaysia's first film festival dedicated to the visibility of gays, lesbians, transgenders, and those living with HIV/AIDS.Screening begin on Dec 20 and run through the weekend with a variety of local productions as well as first-rate international films such as Before Night Falls, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Ma Vie En Rose, and the classic My Beautiful Launderette. The films will be screened at the HELP Institute, Pusat Bandar Damansara, Damansara Heights, in Kuala Lumpur. For more information and reservations contact ptfmsm@hotmail.com. Admission is free, although donations to the organization would be greatly appreciated. The festival aims to create HIV/AIDS awareness as well as cultivate understanding of minority groups within Malaysian society.
