Hundreds of Cambodians joined together in their Kingdom's capital to celebrate at the second annual GLBT Pride Party on the evening of April 10, 2004. The festivities took place at the Oxfam Hong Kong office in the old Kong Kea Palace Night Club in Phnom Penh.

As with the proceeding year, a large number of NGOs attended and participated in the event, including FHI, KHANA, PSI, Men's Health and CARE, distributing AIDS/HIV and social welfare information to the crowd. Sponsors for this year's party were FHI, KHANA and Oxfam Hong Kong as well as a large number of individuals who donated their time and money.

Entertainment for the evening included a traditional dance, Tep Monorom, a sentimental pas de deux normally performed by two women acting in the role of a male and female, but tonight two male dancers performed as the sweethearts.

In addition there was a fashion competition for traditional Khmer men's costume representing the Angkor period and featuring local hunks, drag cabaret and dance shows, followed by DJ spinning into the wee hours.

Make plans to join in the fun at next year's pride party!
