Warm and inviting, Eddy’s Bar is a friendly neighborhood club for people from all corners of the world. Its loyal following is a cross-section of modern Shanghai, and guests pour in from other parts of China, Asia, Europe and North America. It’s warm, it’s red and it’s the perfect place to spend your Shanghai nights.

Eddy’s has a decade of history serving the gay, lesbian and bisexual community in Shanghai and those who enjoy their company. It all started in April 1995, when Eddy decided to provide a place for friends to gather. The original venue, on Weihai Road, drew standing room only crowds from the start. Word of Shanghai’s first gay bar spread quickly, crossing borders and time-zones.

In April of 2002, Eddy’s Bar moved to its new location on Huaihai Road. Its gorgeous world class design (this club could hold its own in Paris, New York, or Tokyo) fuses Asian styling with contemporary comfort. Everyone has a great view of everyone else in the bar, and smiles abound. Owners Eddy and Michael are usually on hand to welcome you, fill you in on the local scene, and introduce you to new friends.

Still warm, still the friendliest place in Shanghai, still Eddy’s. Open nightly from 8pm - 2am. The club is also available for private parties.

Like many popular venues in China, they offer a special discount to Utopia Members who show their member card.
